As part of Cornerhouse’s ¡Viva! Spanish and Latin American Film Festival, we will be running two study mornings for Spanish school and college groups. Further information on the films will be published Dec 2014.

This AS/ A2 study day will be focused on the film María y el Araña and its main features. Carmen Herrero and Ana Valbuena will introduce the film in Spanish, providing relevant historical and contextual information as well as key vocabulary to understand some of the key aspects of the film.

Come along to our Spanish A Level Study Day, led by Carmen Herrero, Head of Spanish at Manchester Metropolitan University. 

This study morning will include a screening of the film La lengua de las mariposas and will address themes of friendship, education, culture and will include some contextual information about the Spanish civil war.  

This study day will address topics including diversity, family life, relationships, looking for and getting a job, youth and adulthood, emotions and feelings, film analysis, contemporary Spanish cinema and women in the film industry.

The study session will include a screening of the film Cobardes. Carmen Herrero will introduce the film in Spanish and English, providing relevant historical and contextual information as well as key vocabulary to understand some of the key aspects of the film.

Bring your students along to our Spanish A Level study day where they can engage with Spanish film, language and culture outside of the classroom.

The topics covered in this Spanish study day include; teenagers; borders; migration; social, national and racial barriers; identity; personal relationships; Central America, Mexico, USA and journeys. Led by Carmen Herrero, Head of Spanish at Manchester Metropolitan University
