Commonwealth Crosscurrents

Too often the Commonwealth is considered only in political terms. However, linked by history and united in diversity, it’s also a hotbed of cinematic talent. Devised entirely round the spirit of exchange between member nations, Crosscurrents zooms in on co-productions from Australia to South Africa, Canada to the Caribbean and Ghana to Pakistan. It’s a showcase for International collaborations in all forms, from drama to documentary, forgotten gems to shorts and more. With a panel discussion and intros by film-makers and cultural commentators, Crosscurrents promises to put the Commonwealth under the spotlight – in a spirit of celebration and community across the globe. Celluloid wealth indeed.Crosscurrents was programmed and organised by Gareth Evans. Text by Gareth Evans.
