Jimena, a young woman fleeing homelessness and a precarious existence in the big city, makes her way down to the island of Tierra del Fuego, in the far south of Argentina. Reaching the manufacturing town of Río Grande, she reconnects with her half-brother Mariano, who somewhat reluctantly takes her in. In this geographically inhospitable location, Jimena finds work and human connections that gradually develop her empathy and a sense of belonging. Mariano, meanwhile, allows greed to override solidarity with his friends and colleagues. Money, or the lack of it, motivates all the characters to some degree, and each must decide how to navigate the approaching economic and labour crisis within a corroded system. An accomplished debut feature film.
