Manchester Open 2024: BSL Tour with Martin Glover

Taking place every two years, the Open Exhibition is the biggest celebration of Greater Manchester’s creative talent. This year the HOME gallery will be filled with 480 artworks created by YOU, the people of Greater Manchester, and then selected by a panel of art experts and community representatives.

Open to all, those who already identify as artists and those who don’t, the Manchester Open brings together artwork including paintings, prints, photography, sculpture, ceramics, digital and mixed media, video, audio, and more.

Martin will guide you to create connections, explore your own interpretation of the work, and challenge perceptions through engaging conversation.

This event is FREE, tickets are limited so booking is essential.

TIME:

• 2:30pm – Meet and Greet at HOME Café
• 2:45-4:45pm – Guided interactive tour of the exhibition Manchester Open (Timing is subject to group size, this is the maximum time)
• 5:00pm – Opportunity to socialise in the cafe. Refreshments not included but the cafe menu can be found here (https://homemcr.org/visit/eat-and-drink/)
  

ABOUT THE TOUR GUIDE:

• Martin is a deaf architect and now more regularly as an arts facilitator, delivering similar tours at Sheffield venues for Sheffield Museum Trust, Yorkshire Sculpture Park, and several institutions across the UK.
• Martin also manage Digitspace project, championing better visual arts access nationally
• Martin is a passionate life long advocate of issues concerning mental health and deafness and British Sign Language.

Please note this tour will be delivered entirely in British Sign Language.

• The Main Gallery has step free access and the route is fully wheelchair accessible
