We’re excited to open submission for the next iteration of the Manchester Open, the biggest celebration of Greater Manchester Creative Talent.
We welcome entries from people of any age and level of experience and background, including
- established professionals,
- students,
- graduates,
- new and emerging talent,
- enthusiastic amateurs and
- first-time artists.
You must live in, or be based in Greater Manchester (i.e. you have a Bolton, Bury, Manchester, Oldham, Rochdale, Salford, Stockport, Tameside, Trafford or Wigan postcode).
We accept work in the following categories
- Painting and Print
- Illustration and Drawing
- Photography
- Audio/Visual/Moving Image
- Sculpture and Installation
- Digital and Mixed Media
Artists will be able to submit one artwork so make sure you submit your best piece!

Manchester Open Awards
We are delighted to once again be working with Castlefield Gallery on the selection of this year’s Manchester Open Awards. Three artists will be awarded with artist development packages managed by Castlefield Gallery and HOME. In addition, a fourth artist will receive the HOME award for a solo exhibition in HOME’s Granada Foundation Galleries, which will include in kind support and one-to-one mentoring. As always, the People’s Prize will return, giving our gallery visitors the opportunity to vote for their favourite artwork.
The exhibition will take place Sat 3 Feb to Sun 28 Apr 2024 and will take the form of a ‘salon hang’, which means that work is shown in close proximity to each other.
The Manchester Open 2024 is supported by the Oglesby Charitable Trust, the Brian Mercer Trust and The Granada Foundation.
