A rich and fascinating supernatural tale from genre favourites Benson and Moorhead (The Endless, Synchronic), who also star as Los Angeles neighbours who discover evidence of a ghostly presence in one of their apartments. What ensues is a brain-scrambling mystery as the pair tumble into a psycho-geographical rabbit-hole, full of dark personal secrets and creepy local legends. This is capacious, thoughtful and at times savagely scary stuff from directors busily exploring and expanding the laws and limits of filmmaking while maintaining a keen curiosity in the world around them.
