Israel’s official submission for the Foreign Language Oscar, this is Kosashvili’s début feature. Zaza (Ashkenazi) is a 31-year-old man whose traditional Georgian family wants him married to a young virgin from a wealthy European family. ‘Meetings’are arranged to vet potential mates and their families. But Zaza hides a secret: he already has a lover. Judith (Elkabetz) is a sensuous, strong, older woman, divorced with a 6-year-old daughter, and of Moroccan origin. Zaza will be forced to make a choice – between love and family dictates.
