Insignificance/ 80s Party

Directed by Nicolas Roeg

We are celebrating our 25th Birthday in October – and this unique film party is our tribute to the decade we were born in. Each film screening will have its own special surprises including a special Einstein challenge for Insignificance. Film themed and eighties fancy dress is highly encouraged!

Cornerhouse’s inaugural film back when we first opened in 1985, Nic Roeg’s Insignificance brings together an unnamed actress, professor, politician and baseball player, clearly meant intended to be Einstein, Marilyn Monroe, Senator Joe MaCarthy and Joe Dimaggio, (so plenty of fancy dress opportunities!) in a New York hotel room on a hot night in 1953. Beyond discussions of love, life and relativity, lies an examination of a notorious period in American politics.
