It Was Acceptable In The 80s

Get yourself into the groove for our 80s party on Sat 16 October

Join us for our fun tribute to the decade Cornerhouse began! Start the party with your pick of a ‘classic’ movie from 1985, our birth year – either The Goonies, Insignificance or Desperately Seeking Susan. Then head back to our Cafe to grab your drinks vouchers, and flashdance, breakdance or dirty dance the night away as DJ Graeme Borland (Space resident DJ / Sankeys) plays a selection of unforgettable 80s tunes with a smattering of Madchester vibes.

The party will be full of special surprises including Scratch ‘n’ Sniff for The Goonies, a competition to win a handmade replica of the famous Madonna jacket from Desperately Seeking Susan, and an Einstein challenge for Insignificance fans. Plus much more! Eighties fancy-dress is highly encouraged! The possibilities are endless – just think big hair, Fame, huge shoulderpads, Wham!, The A Team…or take your inspiration from your favourite film!

Due to popular demand there’s also a family friendly morning screening of The Goonies. What better way to pass on your love for Chunk and co to the next generation of fans?
