We Cannot Walk Alone

Presented as part of Horizons Festival 2021, this exhibition responds to the festival theme; We Cannot Walk Alone, taken from Martin Luther King’s iconic I Have a Dream speech.

Led by Community Arts North West and HOME, Horizons celebrates the enduring power of creativity and the incredible international artists who have made Manchester their home. It explores links between people and communities, the international connections between justice movements and explores our shared humanity and relationships, in all their beauty and complexity.

This joint exhibition was created through a series of bespoke, culturally sensitive visual arts workshops, delivered by Community Arts North West alongside North West Turkish Community Association and Rethink Rebuild Society.

The workshops were led by artists Hasret Brown, Manya Alkhmri and Khalida Alkhmri, and responded to the festival theme through a collaborative process between the artists and community members.

Horizon’s Festival is made possible by the support from the Leri Charitable Trust.
