Artist Laura van Tatenhove is preoccupied with the perception of time and events in painting. Burnt Norton Twenty-Four Shots is a series of twelve oil paintings that deals with the reading of a single ordinary event – two children playing in a park – and the different layers of meaning attached to it. What we see is a moment that has already happened and yet is still happening, a moment in which past and present are in continuous dialogue with each other.
