Director Hou established himself as a major figure in world cinema with a series of ground-breaking and award-winning films such as A City of Sadness (1989), The Puppetmaster (1993) Millennium Mambo (2001) and The Assassin (2015). With a growing interest in New Taiwan Cinema figures such as Hou and Edward Yang, this seems the perfect time to offer audiences the opportunity to see some of the works that established Hou Hsiao-hsien as a major figure in Taiwanese cinema.
