To celebrate the UK premiere of Ali at ¡Viva! 2013 we are pleased to welcome producer Álvaro Alonso from the filmmaking team.

Álvaro Alonso has acquired extensive experience since co-founding Seville-based production companies Letra M and Jaleo Films, working on features, shorts and in television with a strong link to Andalucia but also including international co-productions. In addition he has dipped his toe into acting, directing and cinematography, achieving much critical acclaim for his musical short film Los almendros – Plaza Nueva (2000). Álvaro is on the board of PECAA (Andalusian Production Companies Association) and was its president for two years (2006-2008).

With his extensive knowledge of the cinema business in Spain and beyond, Álvaro is sure to offer some fascinating insights into the politics, economics and technological innovations behind the scenes of the film industry, including a recent novel approach to premieres: the simultaneous release of films in cinemas, on DVD and online.
