Weekend highlights
Don’t miss our cinema screening of Rachel’s breakout hit of the touring British Art Show, Feed Me, introduced by the artist and curator Bren O’Callaghan on Sat 29 Oct. Feed Me is an hour long fever dream into one of Maclean’s trademark, dystopian playgrounds, in which the populous are content to suckle upon childlike TV shows and toy advertisements. But is the sentiment behind the cartoon pelt of Happy Chat Beast simply a marketing pitch, or something altogether more horrifying? Featuring musical-theatre inspired songs and dance routines with disturbing plot twists, this is a must-see for fans of Maclean’s fast-ascending practice.
Join us for a gallery tour with the artist on Saturday 29 Oct, and hear further about the making process behind her green screen environments, costumes, sculptures and more.
Wot u :-) about? opens on Sat 29 Oct and runs until Sun 8 Jan 2017. For more information, head here.
