To mark the publication of The Faber Book of Mexican Cinema by Jason Wood, a selection of films specially imported for the National Film Theatre (NFT) season.
In October the season continues with Feel the Heat… Part 2: Ambulante en Mánchester: Internationally-acclaimed Mexican actors Gael García Bernal and Diego Luna have formed a production company, Canana. Their dedication to Mexican and Latin American cinema is evident in Ambulante, the national tour of recent documentaries that Canana organises. The duo selected the Mexican documentaries, AL OTRO LADO (TO THE OTHER SIDE), TORO NEGRO (BLACK BULL) and DE NADIE (NO ONE), from the tour for the NFT season.
With thanks to the NFT, the Mexican Embassy in London, and Canana.
The book (a rare English-language exploration of contemporary Mexican cinema) will be available in the foyer bookshop.
