To celebrate the UK premiere of Cazando luciérnagas we are pleased to welcome writer and director Roberto Flores Prieto.
Graduating in 1999 from the International School of Film and Television in San Antonio de los Baños, Cuba, Roberto has already been recognised as a talented filmmaker in his home country, Colombia.
Rejecting relocation to the more established centres of cinematic production, Roberto writes, directs and produces beautiful films closely connected to his home town, Barranquilla, which he describes as a deliberate decision to make cinema on the periphery. He’ll be here in March to present the UK premiere of Cazando luciérnagas, and to reveal details of his recently completed second feature film, Ruido rosa, which is also set on the stunning Caribbean coast of northern Colombia.
