Christmas at HOME 2019

There’s no place like HOME at Christmas, and 2019 is our biggest year of events yet! With musicals dominating the screen (and bar), award-winning theatre companies on our stages and special events taking over the building in unexpected places, there is something for everyone.

Our festive theatre programme will take you around the world and back to Manchester again. Headling the programme is the return of HOME favourites 1927, with their smash-hit production Roots (pictured above). Told through their famed blending of theatre, animation and storytelling, these fantastical folk tales feature tyrannical ogres, magical birds, and very, very fat cats.

From across the world to our home city, new for 2019, step inside our pop-up performance space and experience festive stories from Manchester, with the return of The Manchester Project.

For families, stomping back onto our Theatre 2 stage are Little Angel Theatre with their adaptation of David Walliams’ bestselling book The Slightly Annoying Elephant. There are more animal antics courtesy of Chester Zoo at The (More Than) Slightly Exciting Family Fun Day

Finally, what’s Christmas without a musical! This year we’re celebrating the sheer joy of this much-loved artform with a full season of films in partnership with the BFI. Plus, “the ebony and ivory of drag” Le Gateau Chocolat and Jonny Woo will also bring their award-winning show A Night at The Musicals to our Theatre 1 stage.

And of course, we’ll be screening the Christmas classic It’s A Wonderful Life – it’s a HOME tradition, after all!

Scroll down for the full line-up! Don’t forget, we have a cracking Christmas menu in our restaurant for you to enjoy alongside the programme.
