The Odd Couple

a Library Theatre Company 50th Birthday Production

Divorced from his wife, Oscar consoles himself by living in the cheerful chaos his carefree nature thrives on. Into the midst of a smoke laden, beer sodden weekly poker session, comes Felix, newly separated from his wife and, so he says, suicidal. At Oscar’s invitation Felix moves in and is soon finding comfort in performing all the domestic tasks, with the same thoroughness which lost him his wife in the first place. Anarchy ensues in this comedy classic of non-stop laughs as the two men try to come to terms with each other.
You can’t get much zanier than the wonderful Odd Couple. By putting together two of the most incompatible guys in the world, Neil Simon was creating a great recipe for comedy. He also happened to create two of the great comedy giants in American literature!
