We are proud to welcome into Theatre 2 a music concert that brings together musicians from all over the world and communities from all over Greater Manchester.
Amani Community Choir is a cultural cross-over and intergenerational community choir based in Moston. Their performance celebrates friendship and connections between people, working with their community choir and local groups including the Lesbian Immigration Support Group. The choir will sing songs from all over the world supported by a team of professional musicians and experienced workshop facilitators.
MIRO (Manchester International Roots Orchestra) will premiere new work at the Horizons Festival. Created through a series of creative workshops, the music will tell the story of how refugees involved in City of Sanctuary came to Manchester, how they feel here and how they are welcomed by the community. The performance will include storytelling, spoken word and music with a truly local and global flavour.
Both Amani Creatives and MIRO are previous Artists-in-Residence with CAN.
