You’ve heard of the Edinburgh fringe, well this is an opportunity to hear from the fringes of society, as we bring voices that are not usually heard onto the Theatre 1 stage here at HOME.
Our communities programme #HOMEinspires works alongside the city’s most essential community groups, charities and voluntary organisations, and we are taking over Propel at Push for one night only.
The line-up includes a comedy by previously socially isolated older people from Chorlton* and Whalley range, stories and songs from the high-rise flats in Gorton and Hulme, poetry, prose & projection from women from The Maggie’s Centre who are in recovery from Cancer and poetry and music by Tolu Ajayi of Rainbow Noir, all compared by Greg Thorpe of Islington Mill, Manchester Pride & Superbia.
Expect laughs and tears from the people of Manchester as they share their stories.
*Created as part of the Chorlton Good Neighbours Drama Workshops, “Snowed In” as an original production written and directed by Nakib Nurat of Chorlton Good Neighbours, currently shortlisted by Eclipse Theatre.
