It is all too easy for architecture to be seen and not heard.
During lockdown renowned Manchester-based composer, guitarist and music technologist, Jaydev Mistry, set out on a sonic adventure to find HOME’s unique soundtrack as it lay empty of people and activity.
Wandering the halls, theatres, cinemas, galleries and even cupboards of the building Jaydev recorded the building at rest and has now transformed this into a unique composition unveiling the sonic heartbeats that were there all along.
This process is also captured in a series of behind the scenes photographs by Arvind Mistry to fully document this unique time when HOME fell silent – well not quite as silent as we might have first thought.
With thanks to Dave Moutrey and the HOME Technical Team.
