Seeking North West Based Writers – Hear Me Now Volume 2

HOME and Contact are excited to be partners on Hear Me Now Volume 2, a Titiola Dawudu and Tamasha Production funded by Arts Council England.

We are looking for 10 North West based Writers who are people from the African and Caribbean diasporas, people who are South Asian, East Asian, Southeast Asian, North African and Middle Eastern or ethnically-mixed heritages. We also welcome applications for writers who identify as the above and may be D/deaf or disabled.

The selected writers will work with an actor(s) across 2 x 2 hour workshops to create a monologue for Hear Me Now Volume 2. Please note that these workshops will be done online via zoom.

The workshops will be facilitated by theatremaker Cheryl Martin who will bring together actors and writers to create characters and a storyline leading to the creation of monologues that are driven by the actor.

Writers will receive a total fee of £330 for 2 x 3-minute monologues.

We are asking interested applicants to send;

  • 1-2 examples of your writing (no more than 1 page in length)

  •  a short paragraph on how you would approach this brief
