For short film and commercial directors, the move into TV directing can often feel out of reach. This is an opportunity to find out what existing skills you can transfer to this new environment and what the differences in thought processes and organisation are between the sectors.
Join directors working on Waterloo Road for an afternoon on the set of the hit show, where they will talk you through the basics of directing for TV, arming you with the confidence to apply the skills you have built as a filmmaker to the world of TV.
This session will be a mixture of presentations and practical exercises.
In this session you will learn about
- working with technical teams
- understanding the shooting schedule
- working with the cast on set
- understanding the scripting process.
Relevant to people with a track record of creating film or digital work on screen who are interested in applying their knowledge in the TV sector.
Open to people over 18 who currently live in the North West. The North West consists of Cheshire, Cumbria, Greater Manchester, Lancashire and Merseyside.
The workshop will take place Thu 6 Feb, 14:00-18:00, near Manchester City Centre.
