How to make a Film on your Phone Workshop!

Aged 18 to 25 and interested in filmmaking?

Part of Break into film: BFI Film Academy North

Sometimes making a short film can seem like an overwhelming task. Maybe you don’t feel like you’ve got the right equipment, budget, or resources.

We have partnered up with Hyde Park Picture House in Leeds to bring you this interactive session and learn how to make a film using only your phone led by Chloe Barlow.

Chloe will show you all the tips and tricks for making a short film using the device already in your pocket! You’ll meet other filmmakers at the session and if you enjoy yourself, you can go away and make a film to submit to our DIY Film Challenge with the chance of winning a £1000 bursary. Or you can just take what you’ve learnt and carry on practice filmmaking at home. Either way, we hope this session will make shooting a shooting a film all the more possible!

The workshop will take place at The Learning Suite, Leeds Grand Theatre, 46 New Briggate, Leeds LS1 6NU at 11:00.

You can find more information and sign up here.

There are limited spaces on the workshop and it will be first come first serve. If you do not have a phone or a suitable phone, please let us know beforehand and we will be able to provide a device. This workshop is free and travel bursaries are available if required.
