As organisations across the country declare a climate emergency we ask;
What use is it in being ready for the future if the future isn’t a place that we want to head toward?
And where will we all be in twenty years anyway?
This isn’t a question of, ‘What do you want to do in the future?’ rather, ‘Is the future ready for you?’.
HOME seeks to find a collective of questioners, doers, makers and agitators ready to take creative action to help shape a cultural landscape that we all want to be part of. HOME needs you to join this journey to respond collectively and artistically to a future in crisis.
What is it?
Future 20 is a year-long artist residency and training programme for emerging artists aged 18-25 that will culminate in a large-scale public event at HOME in August 2020. Through research, mentoring, professional development and leadership training, the collective will be equipped with the skills, knowledge, resources and expertise they need to lead this innovative project and cultivate a viable career in the arts.
Who are we looking for?
Do you have something to say? Are you ready to take creative action? We’re looking for activists, artists, thinkers, makers, questioners, challengers and provocateurs to join the collective and work in collaboration with HOME to produce a unique, inclusive and interactive audience experience launching us into the next 20 years.
Who can get involved?
- We are looking for people aged 18-25 who are ready for a creative challenge and who are interested in finding out what a career in the arts might look like.
- No prior experience is required, but an enthusiasm and commitment to learn
- Those looking for alternative training opportunities outside of formal education
How much time do I have to commit?
- Monday – Friday between 5 – 23 Aug 2019
- Weekly/monthly mentoring from September – December 2019
- Weekly production sessions from January – August 2020 (full schedule will be created in collaboration with the collective)
- Project delivery, August 2020
