Chair of Board of Trustees

HOME are currently seeking a Chair of the Board of Trustees, who will be responsible for leading the board on overseeing the overall governance and strategic direction of GMAC, developing the organisation’s aims, objectives and goals in accordance with the Memorandum and Articles of Association and other legal and regulatory guidelines.

Board Members are asked to attend all GMAC (t/a HOME) Main (quarterly) Board meetings. In order to maintain a working knowledge of HOME’s work, it is expected that Board Members will attend the cinemas, the galleries, theatre performances and special events regularly so that they can promote HOME from an informed position.

You will be experienced in one or more of the following:

Generic
Chairing board meetings

Sector Specific
Fundraising
Human Resources
Information Technology
Marketing
Community Engagement
Film Industry/Film Sector
Theatre Industry

You will be comfortable working at a strategic level, adept in actively supporting fundraising activity and happy to make effective use of your networks on behalf of GMAC. You will have a strong desire to contribute to public life and will be committed to the Nolan Principles of Public Life. You will already be someone who regularly attends arts events and who is committed to defending artistic freedom.

Current trustees believe that it is in the interests of the organisation that the Board of Trustees should be more diverse than it currently is. Consequently, applications are particularly welcome from any of the following: women, people from culturally diverse backgrounds, disabled people, people between the ages of 18 and 30, and Artists and Arts Professionals who meet the skills profile in the Person Specification.

Salary: This is a voluntary position and there is no remuneration although basic expenses will be reimbursed.

Hours of work: One day per month plus attendance at a range of Film, Visual Arts, Theatre or Engagement events across the year.
