Whisky

Directed by Pablo Stoll & Juan Pablo Rebella

This multi-award-winning deadpan story of mundane lives in Montevideo has been described as ‘a Latin American Kaurismaki film’. Beautifully observed, with droll wit it follows the dull daily routine of failing factory owner Jacobo and his trusted ‘right-hand man’ Marta. When his successful younger brother announces a visit, Jacobo asks Marta to aid him in an elaborate deception, and the subsequent triangle yields quietly comic results. WHISKY is the first Uruguayan film to be released in the UK.
