Having been accepted to study at the country’s most elite music conservatory, 19-year-old jazz drummer Andrew Neyman is determined to rise to the top. Dreaming of greatness but haunted by his father’s failed writing career, Andrew begins to practice alone after hours, where he is overheard by Terence Fletcher – a conductor known for his terrifying teaching method as he is for his immense talent. When Terence begins to single Andrew out in class, the young man’s life is changed forever.
