Un oso rojo

Directed by Israel Adrián Caetano

This powerful performance from Julio Chávez earned him two Latin American awards for Best Actor as Oso, an ex-con returning to his poverty-stricken neighbourhood, having spent 10 years inside for killing a policeman during a robbery. To his dismay he finds his wife and young daughter now living with another man, and little chance of getting his cut from the robbery. Oso attempts to go straight and to build a relationship with his daughter, but old habits die hard.
