This wild ride of a road movie is a bittersweet comedy that muses on life, death and love. 40 years since he took the tango world by storm, Carlos is called away from his new family home in Spain back to his native Argentina. Three septuagenarians, bound together by a passion for tango, embark on an exciting adventure from Madrid to the foothills of the Andes, via Buenos Aires; exploring epic landscapes and tender emotions, but never abandoning absurd humour, ruthless irony and an unbridled passion for dancing. After the success of La Puerta abierta during ¡Viva! 2017, we’re delighted to welcome Marina Seresesky back to Manchester with a film that brims with comedy, nostalgia and tango.
Event/ The screening on Sun 7 Apr will be followed by a Q&A with writer-director Marina Seresesky and producer Álvaro Lavín.
Before the screening on Thu 25 Apr there will be a free tango performance in the ground floor bar, 19:30-20:30.
