Trance

Directed by Danny Boyle

After an extremely busy 2012, Cornerhouse Patron Danny Boyle returns to our cinema screens with a fast-paced psychological thriller that blurs the boundaries between reality and the unconscious.

During a robbery, Simon, an art auctioneer abetting a gang of criminals led by the vicious Franck, decides to double-cross them and makes off with a valuable Goya painting. However, Simon is knocked out during the ensuing chase and claims he has lost all memory of where he hid the artwork. Enter Rosario Dawson’s hypnotherapist who attempts to unravel his mind.

Trance re-unites Danny Boyle with many of his frequent collaborators including screenwriter John Hodge (Trainspotting, Shallow Grave) and Underworld’s Rick Smith, who has composed the original score.
