Hapless heroine Agnes stumbles through time as she repeatedly falls for the wrong guy, dies a grim death, and gets reincarnated a century later – only to meet him again and start the cycle anew.
Her only hope of avoiding her violent fate is by finally reaching spiritual enlightenment; but how can she ever wise up when she’s destined to be a fool for love? Some lessons are just too hard to learn in one lifetime.
Having served up a left-field take on the slasher horror with Prevenge, filmmaker Alice Lowe turns her attention to science fiction tropes in Timestalker: a razor-sharp reimagining of the time-travel narrative which charts the age-old predicament of being a woman in love.
Event/ The special preview screening of Timestalker on Mon 30 Sep will be followed by a Q&A with writer/director Alice Lowe, chaired by Andy Murray, writer and lecturer in Film Journalism based in Manchester.
Timestalker screens on general release from Fri 11 Oct
