The Stuart Hall Project

Directed by John Akomfrah

The Stuart Hall Project is available to watch on BFI Player, here.

Stuart Hall is one of the UK’s leading cultural theorists. John Akromfrah’s documentary looks back on his life and explores the work that – like Noam Chomsky’s career at Massachusetts Institute of Technology – has had a significant impact on our world view. As diverse in its approach to Hall as the theorist’s own body of work, and driven along by the music of Hall’s favourite musician Miles Davis, this is a fascinating portrait of a key British thinker.
