The Seduction of Mimi sees Lina Wertmüller once again working with her regular collaborator, actor Giancarlo Giannini. Here, he plays Mimi, initially a poor labourer in Scicily, in a film that follows his character’s dramatic life as he is forced to leave home after crossing the Mafia. The film mixes violence, sex and politics in a manner that would become firmly associated with the controversial director as the 1970s progressed.
