New East Cinema Presents/ Ága

Directed by Milko Lazarov

An Inuit couple try to hold on to their traditions in Siberia’s tundra as the modern world and global warming bring challenges to their lifestyle in Bulgarian director Milko Lazarov’s stunning film.

In their yurt in the snowy Northern wilderness, Nanook and Sedna live following the traditions of their ancestors. Their way of life is threatened as the conditions around them change, slowly but inevitably. Hunting becomes increasingly difficult as animals become scarce, and the ice around them begins to melt earlier with every year.

Nanook and Sedna dream of reuniting with their daughter Ága, who left a long time ago. When Sedna’s health deteriorates, Nanook decides to fulfil her wish and embarks on a long journey to find Ága.
