The Neon Bible

Directed by Terence Davies

Despite its American setting, THE NEON BIBLE is clearly a Davies film, with its subject, trademark editing, careful composition, excellent performances, and inspired use of music. Based on a novel by John Kennedy Toole, the film follows the life of sensitive young Tierney, son of poor Southern farmers. One day his quiet life is upended by the arrival from the city of his nightclub singer aunt (Rowlands).
