The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou

Directed by Wes Anderson

Almost 2 years after TENENBAUMS, Wes Anderson returns with the comic, quirky tale of Jacques Cousteau-like, internationally renowned, washed-up oceanographer Steve Zissou (Murray) and his ultimate voyage – to avenge his friend’s death-by-shark. Aboard the Belafonte are Team Zissou – divers, adventurers, documentary filmmakers and the newest addition – Steve’s long-lost illegitimate son Ned (Wilson). In an ensemble cast to die for, alongside Anderson regulars you can find Jeff Goldblum, Michael Gambon, and Bud Cort, to name a few. Team Zissou’s aquatic life (above and below the waves) has a Cousteau-era retro feel, and the candy-coloured marine life (animated by Henry Selick) is straight outta 60s kids’ TV.
