Paolo Sorrentino’s (This Must Be the Place) classy portrait of contemporary Rome follows Jep Gambardella (Toni Servillo), an attractive, aging socialite and one-time novelist who now writes newspaper society columns. Jep attends a whirlwind of decadent parties and lavish dinners with his eclectic and eccentric group of friends, but steadily becomes weary of his lifestyle and is haunted by memories of a lost love.
