The Crimson Pig

Directed by Hayao Miyazaki

Most of the 1920s dogfights over the Adriatic are won by the same flying ace – a pig?! – solitary hero at once humble and inspiring. The aviation theme allowed Miyazaki to include his favourite vintage planes, amazing aerial scenes and a fantasy sequence that references both Roald Dahl and Powell & Pressburger.
