Strawberry Fields

Directed by Frances Lea

Set during a hot English summer, this twisted and complex tale explores sibling rivalry, sexual awakening and mind games. A woman cycles through the rural lanes of the Kent countryside before stumbling upon a strawberry farm. She soon catches the eye of co-worker Kev, who is enthralled by her mysterious and perculiar ways. The two embark on a passionate affair but their blossoming idyllic life is soon brought to a halt with the arrival of Emily, who claims the woman to be her sister Gillian. A battle of wills between the two women ensues, with Kev caught in the crossfire. Strawberry Fields is a fresh, lustful and distinctly British melodrama, featuring exceptional performances across the board.

We are pleased to welcome director Frances Lea for a post-screening Q&A following the New British Cinema Quarterly screening on Wed 18 July.
