Terence Stamp stars as Arthur, a prickly and incorrigible grump set in his ways but wholly dedicated to the love of his life, wife Marion. Whilst Arthur routinely goes about his senior years, Marion embraces every opportunity she can and enthusiastically practices regularly in a quaint ragtag community choir, The OAPZ. However, when Marion suffers a cancer relapse, Arthur is forced to confront his painfully estranged relationship with their son, James, and grudgingly immerse himself in an unfamiliar sociable lifestyle.
At its heart, Song for Marion is an astutely observed family drama anchored by emotionally heartrending and precise performances from its all-star cast. Written and directed by Paul Andrew Williams (London to Brighton), this sensitive portrait of overcoming the loss of loved ones is a deeply sincere British comedy drama.
