Set in and around an affluent ski resort, Sister is a portrait of an older-than-his-years twelve year old who spends his days stealing ski equipment to support himself and his older sister. Drawing comparisons to the Dardennes brothers, Ursula Meier’s slice of European realism shows the flipside to the high-class Swiss resorts as Simon and his sister Léa struggle to cope with life in the town’s tower block developments.
