Explore the next generation of local filmmaking talent with two curated programs showcasing the work of graduate students from the School of Digital Arts, Manchester Metropolitan University. 

Join us as we celebrate the new creative voices emerging from Greater Manchester. 

Screening in this programme: 

The First Day(dir. Thomas Naughton) – A WWI veteran reminisces about his first experiences on the front lines.

My Dad the Spaceman(dir. Conner Wait) – A father attempts to travel across time and space to avert a personal tragedy.

Grappling with Indie Wrestling(dir. Liam Cottington) – Lizzy Evo discusses her time in the wrestling industry spanning an impressive 11-year career.

Downpour(dir. Zedd Simpson-Smith) – A man suffering from insomnia rides out a terrential downpour in the confines of his house over five days.

Something More Meaningful(dir. Louis Whitley) – A documentary film crew find meaning in unexpected places when their plans change.

It’s Gonna Be Okay (dir. James Shrimpton) – In the aftermath of losing her parents, a young girl struggles to cope with grief while clinging to the family home.

Bird of Paradise(dir. Levi Felix Holton) – One half of a whole goes to find his counterpart after they fall into the afterlife.

First to Wake(dir. Travis Wardrope) – Centuries after a devastating war, the designated survivor wakes with an assigned mission to fulfil.
