Short film/ El Padre bueno

Directed by Jorge Cañada Escorihula

Damián, a dowser by profession, must urgently locate an underground water source if he is to put food on his family’s table. Water is underground, and so is his daughter, buried. El Padre bueno is a dance of life and death, of ghosts and presences.

Jorge is a Spanish filmmaker based in London. His Vfx background has allowed him to work with directors such as Jonathan Glazer, Wachowski sisters, Terrence Malick or Shane Meadows, among many others. For the last couple of years, Jorge has been trying to develop his own language and El padre Bueno is his first attempt writing and directing by himself. In parallel, he has been working with Ari Aster, producing a whole sequence of his new film, Disappointment Blvd.
