Secuestro Express

Directed by Jonathan Jakubowicz

Dubbed the Venezuelan CITY OF GOD, the semi-autobiographical SECUESTRO EXPRESS is a frenetic story of lucrative swift-kidnap businesses that are springing up across parts of Latin America. Carla and Martin are a young upper-class couple out on the town when they encounter three men who make their living by kidnapping unwitting young adults to extort quick money from their wealthy parents.  The experiences of both a kidnapped bourgeois couple and their captors are reflected in an array of eye-popping, fast-cut images, and roaming shots of Caracas’ mean streets.
