Rough for Theatre: Beckett on Screen

Coinciding with our current exhibition Incommunicado, this programme offers a selection of Beckett on screen from the 2000 Irish-produced series Beckett on Film, including KRAPP’S LAST TAPE (dir Atom Egoyan, starring John Hurt, 58mins), NOT I (dir Neil Jordan, starring Julianne Moore, 14mins), and BREATH (dir Damien Hirst, 45 secs). Plus FILM – SCREENPLAY BY SAMUEL BECKETT (dir Alan Schneider, US 1965, 21mins) – the only film specially written by Beckett starring Buster Keaton and BUT THE CLOUDS (BBC, tx 17.4.77, 16.5mins) featuring Beckett favourite Billie Whitelaw.
