Requiem

Winner of the Critics’ Prize and a deserved Best Actress award for Hüller at the 2006 Berlin Film Festival, Schmid’s powerful and disturbing drama is based on the same true story as THE EXORCISM OF EMILY ROSE. Diagnosed as epileptic, Michaela (Hüller) leads a cocooned life until she convinces her parents to allow her to attend university where she discovers the freedoms of the era (70s). When her health deteriorates, she turns in desperation to a young priest who prescribes exorcism – with tragic effect.
