Spanish director Hens draws out excellent performances from novice actors García and Díaz, ably supported by Mirta Ibarra, veteran Cuban actress and widow of Tomás Gutiérrez Alea (Fresa y chocolate, 1993 and Guantanamera, 1995).
Cuba is a difficult place to be young and gay. When Reinier (Díaz), teen rent boy as well as husband and father, shares more than just a passion for football with his best friend Yosvani (García), the consequences of poverty and desire complicate their lives with tragic results.
