Co-written with esteemed producer Elías Querejeta, NOTICIAS DE UNA GUERRA uses archive footage and dramatic reconstructions to dramatically re-present a chronology of key events of the Spanish Civil War, from 1936-1939. For over one year Ortega scoured the archives in Spain, Germany and Russia to assemble an unrivalled collection of images that recount the history from the call for General Elections in 1936 to the declared end of the war in 1939. Radio links together the events and actual texts were used to reproduce important speeches and announcements.
