A true return to form for the Coens with their best film in years, some say ever. Excellently adapted from the novel by Cormac McCarthy, it’s a taut, violent, and at times comic, noir-western set in a desolate desert town. Unemployed Vietnam vet Llewelyn Moss (Brolin) chances across a stash of cash, thereby drawing the attentions of the lethal Anton Chigurgh (Bardem), with both pursued by sheriff Ed Bell (Jones). Beautifully and exactly crafted by all concerned – from directors to cinematography, editing, score and the deadeye delivery of the actors, no country will leave you breathless.
“An indisputably great movie.” Rolling Stone
